My name is Guillaume Payen, and I live in Paris, France. I'm a Data Engineer working as a Freelance.
After working for 10 years around Web development and database architecture, in 2015 I have decided to dedicate my expertise around Data. I have developed skills on NoSQL databases, Hadoop, and data pipelines architectures.
I mostly do Data processing, with a focus on Streaming solutions such as Spark and Flink.
Build a strong relationship with my clients, the key to understand the why and the how
Rely on the best NoSQL solutions to focus on performance, reliability and scalability
Use cutting edge technologies to process the data
Use the smartest association of tools to bring and process data to your data store
Flink and Spark Streaming in the game to answer the most demanding need in Big Data today
Focus on data automating the infrastructure setup and maintenance
Here is a small article, just do expose how easy and efficient it is to work with Logstash. For this tutorial, all you will need is Docker. You will find the source code for the tutorial on my Github repository. The idea through this tutorial is simply to parse Nginx logs, process them, and store […]
Last Monday, I had the opportunity to attend a meetup from Elastic where their latest version was presented: 6.0. Elastic has done a tremendous job since version 2 of their stack. With version 6, they are make elasticsearch easier to use, simpler to maintain, and more accessible to users. The presentation was split into 3 […]
Socket Bridge is a small project working with NodeJS, and using the very famous SocketIO library. Its purpose is quite simple : create a bridge between devices that will then be able to share data. A producer will be capable of pushing messages, through a REST API, while many consumers will connect to the feed […]
Processing data is cool. Analyzing data is cool. Streaming data and perform real time processing is over cool 🙂 Yet, to make it happen, you will need data… You might get data from your business, but can you use it if you want to try a new technology for yourself ? So, like many others […]
How many books I have read about informatics, about databases ? I honestly could not tell. Yet, there are those books that I will not forget, and Des données et des graphes is this this kind of book. Here are a couple of reasons: the book is short. I know it can sound weird, but […]
Here is a small tutorial about a code that I have written and that lies on my Github account. The idea is just to customize your Mongodb shell. This is particularly interesting if you (like me) almost perform the same requests just after launching the shell, or if you (like me) wish to rewrite the […]
